AMD Radeon HD 6000 Series

AMD Radeon HD 6000 Series: Possible models

In exactly 2 weeks before the launch of the GPU Radeon HD 6000 Series AMD (Northern Islands) still know very little about these new GPU. Bright Side Of News From we get a few more details to come to clarify the new nomenclature of the expected 2nd generation of AMD's DirectX 11 graphics.

Theo Valicha claims to have contacted a number of AMD partners, which they confirmed that the GPU Barts (range medium-high) would go on sale as Radeon HD 6800 Series (Radeon HD 6870 and 6850) and that these new GPU would have a performance slightly below the current high range (Radeon HD 5870 and 5850 respectively). The change in nomenclature corresponds to the IGP integrated into the family of microprocessors Fusion will also be part of the family Radeon HD 6000 Series, and probably occupy the Series HD 6400 and below.

Gathering information from Bright Side of News, and combining it with information from the Northern Islands nuclei confirmed, we have prepared a table with any Radeon HD 6000 Series to see in the coming weeks:

On the other side from Legit Reviews Shappire tell us that just get the status "Elite Partner" in the AMD Fusion Partner Program.

Conclusions

Apparently the new Radeon HD 6850 will perform intermediate between the current Radeon HD 5830 and 5850, while the performance of the Radeon HD 6870 will be between the Radeon HD 5850 and 5870, which is not bad considering that These GPUs will range medium-high. Yet there is no data on the ranges high, but this information could suggest that the Radeon HD 6870 would perform quite similar to that of the Geforce GTX 470, so the ranges high without problems outweigh the GTX 480, which would logical considering that already spent over 1 year since the launch of the Radeon HD 5000 Series, and that AMD has had enough time to polish their successors.

The merger with ATI has influenced this restructuring on AMD products so far came with the IGP core with at least 2 generations behind in relation to their GPU discrete, but apparently it ended and maintain a consistent numbering with the their GPU discrete, apparently also made a profound change in the management of its product divisions, it is curious to see the Sapphire, a manufacturer of GPUs known as "Elite" division of CPUs Fusion, which implies that AMD will maintain closer relationships with their partners by giving them access not only to its GPU and chipsets, but their CPU.
